Upcoming Inspection Opportunities for Refuse Hauler, Non-Hazardous Liquid Waste Hauler, Medical Waste Hauler, and Potable Water Hauler Permit Holders Beginning January 2027.
To help ensure every permitted hauler vehicle receives its annual inspection, our inspection team will offer multiple inspection options throughout the East and West Valleys beginning in 2027, to increase convenience and customer service. Only one inspection is required for these hauler permit types per year.
We will be scheduling:

Drive‑through inspections (available twice a year, tentatively March and October).
- Virtual live‑stream inspections (each Wednesday online through Microsoft Teams)
- On-site yard inspections (only in Maricopa County)
- On‑site inspections at job locations or disposal sites, as needed (also only in Maricopa County)

Drive-Through Inspections
- Held twice per year in the East and West Valley (spring and fall).
- Each vehicle will be assigned a specific 15‑minute window to arrive and complete the inspection.
- This format helps prevent long lines, keeps traffic moving, and ensures inspections are completed quickly and efficiently.
Virtual Live-Stream Inspections
- Virtual inspections are available on designated days using the same 15‑minute appointment format.
- Permit holders select an open time window and must be ready to join the video session at the scheduled time.
- Most inspections can be completed within this timeframe, and inspectors will guide you step‑by‑step through what needs to be shown on camera.
These inspection opportunities apply to all permitted truck types, including:
- Refuse haulers
- Non-hazardous liquid waste haulers
- Potable water haulers
- Medical waste haulers

Note: Permit numbers must be properly posted on each vehicle for the inspection to be completed.

Scheduling Drive-Through and Virtual Inspections (15-Minute Appointment Slots)
To streamline the annual inspection process and reduce wait times for permit holders, both our drive‑through inspections and virtual live‑stream inspections will be scheduled in 15‑minute appointment intervals.
