Maricopa County Mock Election
I was excited to participate in County Election Department's second Mock Election to test new processes for mail-in voters who drop their ballots off in person. This exercise helps us prepare for emergency voting and election day operations.

Thank you to officials from Planning and Development who joined me for a great conversation with local stakeholders in Desert Hills and New River. We covered a lot of topics – from floodplain drainage to code enforcement and more.

Coffee with a Cop in D3
I was honored to join Phoenix City Councilwomen Deb Stark and Anne O'Brien for Coffee with a Cop. They hosted 3 local precincts: Black Mountain, Cactus Park, and Desert Horizon at the Doubletree Suites at Metro Center. It was a great turnout of neighborhood leaders who were provided important updates from Phoenix Chief of Police Matt Giordano and Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell on their ongoing work to combat prostitution and human trafficking on the notorious “Blade” along the I-17 Corridor.

Greater Phoenix Leadership & Valley Partnership
I was privileged to meet with Greater Phoenix Leadership and Valley Partnership this past month to discuss my priorities as Chair, including eviction prevention, access to services for the seriously mentally ill (SMI) population, and the Infrastructure Readiness tool (part of my transparency initiatives). Senate President Petersen & County Supervisor Whiting
As a member of the County Supervisors Association Board, I very much enjoyed meeting with Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen along with my colleague Navajo County Supervisor Jason Whiting to discuss county priorities as a part of the state budget.

Elections - Reaction to Ruling
I joined Mike Broomhead on KTAR News to discuss the Judge’s order and our request for a stay. Our priority continues to be election duties clarity between the Recorder and the Board of Supervisors to ensure our voters have full confidence in the process and the outcomes ahead of Arizona's upcoming Primary and General Election.

Annual Fire Ban to Be Implemented May 1 – Sept. 30
Drought conditions continue across the region, and we have already seen the increasing risk of wildfires. Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department has enacted a ban, as has the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department. Our focus is protecting the places our residents enjoy.
