Standing with the Jewish Community
This month I asked Sheriff Sheridan and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office to increase patrol around local houses of worship following an attack on a synagogue in Michigan. There is no place in our community for antisemitism. Thank you to 12News and KTAR for covering this important public safety matter.
Enjoying the Annual Mesa Farm Breakfast!
I had a great time at the annual Maricopa County Farm Bureau breakfast in Mesa. It was fantastic to meet so many folks. As always, I highlighted the importance of our agriculture industry and provided an overview of what we are doing at Maricopa County. Thanks to Mayor Mark Freeman for hosting us all at the Freeman Corn Patch!
Veteran Standdown
It's critical to support the men and women who have defended our freedom. I am so grateful for all the wonderful services Maricopa County and others provide during our annual Veteran Standdown. From legal fine forgiveness to haircuts, this event gives our brave veterans the resources they need to succeed. Take a look at our video to learn more about this incredible event.
Permitting Reform Roundtable
I was honored to join the Permitting Reform Roundtable hosted by the National Association of Manufacturers and the Arizona Chamber of Commerce. Last year I oversaw the complete overhaul of Maricopa County's Zoning Ordinance. I'm proud to say Maricopa County continues to lead on these issues and deliver real results for our residents.
Touring UMOM Day Centers
I had the opportunity to visit UMOM New Day Centers, an incredible organization dedicated to providing the largest shelter for homeless families. UMOM does so much including providing job assistance, rapid rehousing, and a variety of services for kids. Click the picture below to learn more about the work UMOM is doing in our community.
Donate to County Libraries
One of the County's greatest resources is our libraries! They not only provide books, but movies, music, streaming services, culture passes, and even scholarships! I recently donated some lightly used books to the "Friends of the Fountain Hills Library," which is a nonprofit that helps to fund library programs by selling donated books and movies. Thank you to these wonderful volunteers! Click the picture below to learn more.
