Summary
The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) is modernizing the Medical Electronic Disease Surveillance Intelligence System (MEDSIS). During this transition, MEDSIS will be temporarily unavailable for disease reporting.
Affected Dates and Times
Friday, January 23, 2026, at 5:00 PM through Monday, January 26, 2026.
Action Requested
Providers will not be able to submit reports in MEDSIS during the outage period.
Electronic laboratory reporting (ELR) will continue and will be loaded into the modernized MEDSIS system once it becomes available starting Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
On Monday, January 26, 2026, providers should follow after-hours disease reporting processes and report 24-hour reportable conditions to Maricopa County Department of Public Health by calling 602-747-7111.
Background
This planned outage is necessary to support migration from the existing MEDSIS platform to a modernized system that will enhance infectious disease surveillance statewide.
