MARICOPA COUNTY
ZONING ORDINANCE
The Board of Supervisors recently updated the Maricopa County Zoning Ordinance to make it easier to read, understand, and utilize.
The new Ordinance is effective TODAY, and contains new user-friendly graphics, illustrations and tables. Also, the ordinance has been reorganized by consolidating land uses, removing outdated terms and phrases, and improving the general layout and appearance for easier navigation.
Standards have been adjusted to ensure adequate transitions between residential and non-residential land uses and urban and rural land uses and to manage development of new and emerging industries and technologies.
Adjustments have been made to residential zoning processes and standards to address expanding housing needs, including new development measures for accessory dwelling units and short-term rental uses consistent with recently adopted State mandates.
