Mesa Chamber Keynote
It was a pleasure to provide the keynote address at the Mesa Chamber's Corporate Board Dinner this week. As a pro-market leader, it’s always heartening to see the strength of our local business community.
Who's Afraid of Local Control?
This was the prompt I received for a panel I sat on for the Flinn Brown Foundation last week. I'm a proponent of local control and with a balanced budget, enhanced wages for our Sheriff's deputies, and a lowered tax rate for the 5th year in a row, I believe Maricopa County is the greatest example of good, local governance.

Congratulations to the City of Mesa and Mesa Community Colleges on their new billboard! This month they officially unveiled the Mesa College Promise billboards during a lighting ceremony held at the college’s Southern and Dobson campus. It was a pleasure to attend and honor this exciting new milestone.

Magnifying What the Monitor is Doing
I joined FOX10's John Hook's Newsmaker this month to discuss the latest happenings with the County's federally court appointed monitor, Robert Warshaw. Mr. Hook said it best, "I smell a grift." You can watch the full interview by clicking the picture below.
100 Club of Arizona
Earlier this year, our district experienced a devastating loss when Office Gabriel Facio was killed in the line of duty. When tragedy like this strikes in our First Responder community, there is an organization that springs into action: The 100 Club of Arizona. This incredible nonprofit provides immediate financial and emotional support for the surviving families. Learn more about the 100 Club's impact by clicking the button below.
Local Favorite: Perk Eatery
For a taste of Midwest cooking with a Southwest flare, look no further than Perk Eatery in Scottsdale. Whether is a waffle or burger, this family-owned diner leaves its mark on even the most classic dishes. Perk also features specialty drinks that can turn some heads. This gem, located off Greenway and Scottsdale Road, was even featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.” Check it out!
