Summer Basketball and Volleyball Program
At the start of June, Supervisor Gallardo's 3rd annual Summer Sports Program begun. This year we had record setting participation from hundreds of kids from the Cartwright School District. This free program has turned into an essential part of our youth's summer and something many look forward to as a way to make friends and build athletic skills. Giving our youth the opportunity to enjoy our program in a safe environment has a tremendous impact on the community as a whole. We thank the Cartwright School District for their partnership, and we are very excited for this program to continue for many years to come in the remodeled Steve Gallardo Event Center.
Pride Month Coffee & S'mores Event
On June 24th Supervisor Gallardo's office held a coffee & s'mores event to celebrate Pride Month with fellow Maricopa County colleagues. The event went well, and it was an opportunity from employees in all County departments to connect. With Pride Month coming to a conclusion, it is important to emphasize the importance of the progress we have made as well as the progress that has yet to be done for all Maricopa County residents as well as the nation as a whole.
