All: The Planning & Development Department has updated Step 3 for the proposed Update to the Maricopa County Zoning Ordinance as part of the Enhanced Regulatory Outreach Program (EROP) process. This includes TA250001 – Maricopa County Zoning Ordinance Update. The update will result in a reformatted ordinance with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and user friendliness. Duplicative, conflicting or confusing language will be removed; and illustrations, graphs, and charts will be added to clarify standards and procedures. The ordinance will incorporate changes that advance housing opportunities aligned with community priorities. Upon adoption by the Board of Supervisors, the updated Zoning Ordinance will serve as a more useful and effective tool for directing future growth and development in unincorporated areas of the County. A draft of the update will be prepared for review at a future date. The EROP website has been updated to list Step 3 with the following document:
This is for the P&Z Commission to initialize the text amendment, and to provide a status update of the June 5th Public Stakeholder meeting. The ZIPPOR meeting was conducted on 5/22/25.

A P&Z meeting is scheduled for June 12, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors’ Auditorium at 205 W. Jefferson St., AZ 85003. Attendance is in person or virtual through GoToWebinar.
