Working with the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce
I recently had the pleasure of co-hosting the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce's latest AZ in Focus event, The State of the County, with Vice Chair Kate Brophy McGee. It was a great opportunity to share my priorities and what I’ve been working on as Chairman. I also spoke at the Greater Phoenix Chamber’s Board Retreat on May 1. I highlighted the County’s good fiscal record and strong support for public safety.

Chase Field Op-ed
I recently wrote an opinion piece for the Arizona Republic regarding my proposed solution for not only keeping the Diamondbacks at Chase Stadium, but a way to prevent these kind of stadium squabbles in the future. This op-ed also spurred additional media opportunities with KTAR, Arizona Sports, and KJZZ. My proposal, which gained national attention, calls for one statewide stadium authority to manage and plan sports and entertainment for the next five decades.

Election News
Recently, my Board colleagues and I approved an election plan for the upcoming Special Election for U.S. Congressional District 7. We rejected a proposal from Recorder Justin Heap to illegally mail ballots to voters who are not on the Active Early Voting List. I remain committed to election integrity. We sent a draft proposal of a new shared services agreement with Recorder Heap on April 12. We still have not heard back from him. Stay tuned!
