Temporary Closure
Cave Creek Transfer Station will be closed on May 9th & May 10th
Please note that our Cave Creek Transfer Station will be closed on May 9th & May 10th for a paving and concrete improvement project designed to enhance your experience. You may consider the following alternatives:

Construction will extend through mid-June. We will remain open all other normal business days during the project. For your safety, during construction, we kindly ask you to DRIVE SLOWLY and EXERCISE CAUTION while on site.

Bridge Preventative Maintenance
Bridge preservation work begins Monday, May 5th, on New River Road Bridge over Skunk Creek
The Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be conducting maintenance work on and around the New River Road bridge at Skunk Creek wash near 8th Avenue, located approximately two miles north of Circle Mountain Road in New River. This work is part of periodic bridge upkeep and will include improvements to sidewalks at both ends of the bridge approaches. Access to New River Road will be maintained at all times, although drivers can expect lane reductions at times in the work zone. This project is expected to last approximately one month.
The project includes:
- Applying an epoxy injection to patch and seal cracks underneath the bridge.
- Removing and replacing the sidewalk on both sides of the bridge.
- Cleaning up the work zone and miscellaneous tasks.
Work schedule:
Where: New River Road over Skunk Creek, north of 8th Avenue. When: Monday, May 5th, to early June 2025. 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. No holiday, overtime or weekend work is anticipated.
