All: The Planning & Development Department has updated Step 1 for the proposed Text Amendment as part of the Enhanced Regulatory Outreach Program (EROP) process. This includes TA250001 – Maricopa County Zoning Ordinance (MCZO) update. The purpose of this text amendment is to accomplish a comprehensive update and a reorganized format of the current MCZO. Improvements will include simplified or clarified standards and procedures; new useful visual aids (graphics and charts); a new more logical organization of chapters; helpful cross references/links; replacement of outdated and confusing language with contemporary standards; streamlined processes where possible; and new electronic online tools to make the ordinance more accessible and useful to the public. The ordinance will also incorporate any changes to regulatory processes that advance housing opportunities in the County.
The EROP website has been updated to list Step 1 with the following documents:
