Supervisor Debbie Lesko Votes for Comprehensive Election Audit She Has Been Pushing for Since Day One
PHOENIX, ARIZONA – Today, Maricopa County Supervisor Debbie Lesko (District 4) voted to authorize funding for two, independent election-related reviews, keeping a promise she made to her constituents over the past year.
“I am so excited that the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has approved funding for the Comprehensive Election Audit I have been pushing for since day one. I told my constituents I would prioritize an elections review for Maricopa County, and today, we kept that promise,” said Lesko. “Election integrity is one of the cornerstones of our democracy, and it is vital that we restore faith in our system for all voters – and demonstrate a willingness to fix any problems that might be identified in the process. I look forward to seeing the results of this review.”
One of those reviews is a technology audit, which will ensure that Maricopa County’s election equipment and software were not tampered with during the 2024 election cycle and cannot connect to the internet.
The other review is a comprehensive review by independent auditors, investigating lines of business as chain of custody, physical security, tabulation, and drop box security of Maricopa County election processes.
This comprehensive audit will be put out for open bid, so that any experienced individual or company can bid on doing the audit.
