TODAY'S KEY MESSAGE
Help Improve Our Air Quality
Maricopa County Air Quality Department is encouraging residents, visitors, and businesses to refrain from burning wood during the holiday season and instead opt for cleaner burning alternatives. This is good for the entire community, especially residents with breathing issues such as asthma. Air Quality has two programs that can help make cleaner burning more affordable for you and your family: Maricopa County Fireplace Retrofit and Maricopa County Propane Fire Pit.

Happy Tails
"We adopted Peaches, a senior poodle/Bichon mix, in June. When she came to the shelter, she had been suffering from severe neglect for an unknown period of time. We followed MCACC directions for letting her acclimate to her new home and our other dog. After a couple of weeks of recovery, we learned she is a 14-lb. exercise fiend. I have arthritis, so I bought a scooter, and now we start each day with a joyful two-mile exercise run. She has brought energy and joy into our lives and has become a valued companion for our other dog."
