TODAY'S KEY MESSAGE
Maricopa County Elections Presents on the Impact of 2-Page Ballot
|
|
|
The November 5, 2024 General Election will require a two-page ballot due to several statewide citizen initiatives, legislative referrals, local, state and federal contests. This is the first time since 2006 that voters have been asked to vote a ballot that is two pages. Election officials across Arizona are working to provide ballot education to all voters. Find your ballot information at CandidateList.Maricopa.Vote
The length of the ballot and what is expected to be historic turnout, will lead to longer than normal lines on Election Day. Maricopa County Elections is encouraging anyone who plans to participate in the 2024 General Election to vote early. Voters can do so by receiving a ballot in the mail or voting in-person at a Maricopa County Vote Center, beginning on Oct 9. The last day to request an early ballot is October 25th.

Maricopa County Animal Care Seeks “September Surge” in Adoptions
Our County shelters are way over capacity which puts stress on the dogs in our care. That is why we are seeking an extra 150 dogs be adopted by the end of the month. An extra 150 adoptions in 30 days will help MCACC bring shelter capacity back down to a level that provides the best outcomes for the dogs.
To support this effort, MCACC will offer new promotions and events at its shelters and take adoptable pets out to where potential adopters are, like high-profile concerts.
- September 7th & 8th: Clear the Shelters Weekend; adoption fees waived for dogs 6 months and older
- September 7th & 8th: Double Header PetSmart Adoption Event
- September 21st: East Side Elves Par-Tee Golf Tournament
- September 28th: Cars & Canines Adoption Event
- September 28th & 29th: Maricopa County Home Show

Happy Tails
“I knew I was in love with Milly by seeing her sweet face on my computer screen. I just signed on to stream the County Board of Directors meeting and MCACC was featuring her during the Pet Showcase. She reminded me of my dog that passed two years ago that was my everything. The more I looked at her picture and read her profile on the MCACC website, I knew she had to join my furry family. I got to the West Shelter before it opened and met her, and the first thing she did was sit on my feet so I couldn’t leave, then kissed my face. I filled out her paperwork and brought her home where she quickly became best friends with my older dog Ace, and is working on charming her three kitty sisters. She’s the happiest little pittie piglet ever, and I am beyond grateful to have her in my life! Maricopa Milly is forever home.” -Brittany C.
