Maricopa County Named Best County for Economic Development
We’re #1! Maricopa County was named as America’s Best County for economic development performance by Site Selection Magazine. I’m very proud of this prestigious distinction. My colleagues and I share a vision for Maricopa County to attract jobs and a variety of businesses. Credit goes to our terrific Maricopa County staff. I have gratitude for our partners Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Greater Phoenix Chamber, Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and business leaders Chris Camacho, Todd Sanders, and Daniel Seiden.
Monsoon Storms: Are you Ready?
Monsoon season is the most dangerous time of year weather-wise in the Southwest. Although the Monsoon brings welcome rains and relief from the summer heat, the thunderstorms that come with the Monsoon bring their own hazards. In an emergency, you may not have access to food, water, or electricity for several days. Prepare an emergency kit that will last you at least 3 days. Remember to make the kit make sense for your family! Preparedness starts with you!
National Dog Month!
August is National Dog Month and all dogs 45lbs or more have their adoption fees waived through 8/25. All pets adopted from our shelters come home licensed, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ready to start their new chapter with you!
- East Shelter: 1920 S Lewis, Mesa
- West Shelter: 2500 S 27th Ave, Phoenix
- Heidi's Village: 600 N 40th St, Phoenix
 Heat Relief
We're well into our Summer heat season, but don't let your guard down. Heat illness can happen anytime. Look out for those most vulnerable to heat illness, including children and older adults.
