KTAR News: Mike Broomhead Show
Thank you, Mike Broomhead for having me on KTAR to talk about the new Maricopa County budget. We discussed how the County has cut property tax rates 4 years in a row and reduced this year’s overall budget by 11%. We also talked about these difficult times to be serving in political office. It was a great conversation!

Mesa: Funding for Three Mesa Venues
I’m really proud of my plan for Maricopa County to invest in these three important features in Mesa. I am providing funding for:
- $100,000 for renovations to the Firefighter Memorial.
- $200,000 for updates to interactive exhibits at the Mesa i.d.e.a. Museum.
- $50,000 for replacing six A/C units for the Mesa Hisorical Society’s auditorium renovation.
These three facilities and gathering spaces honor our first responders, educate our youth and instill community pride. They highlight the city’s rich history to inspire future generations and introduce them to the wonders of the wider world.

Childhelp Center Tour
Last week I took a tour of the incredible Childhelp center. They take care of abused and neglected children, and their staff members are beacons of light for kids who need love and hope at a critical time. The partnerships involved to provide comprehensive services are incredible… Phoenix Children’s Hospital, the Office of Child Welfare Investigations, Phoenix Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit, Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, and the Department of Child Safety. It’s a one-stop approach to child abuse response.
