Mesa: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the East Valley Animal Shelter
I am thrilled to announce that the Grand Opening ceremony for the new East Valley Animal Care Center was an overwhelming success! I had the privilege of speaking at the event and expressing my gratitude to everyone who played a part in making our new shelter a reality. The highlight of the event was the ribbon-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the official opening of our state-of-the-art facility.
The Animal Shelter is now open to the public!

Mesa: National Police Week
Let's come together to recognize National Police Week, a time dedicated to showing appreciation for the sacrifice and commitment of our law enforcement officers. I recently had the honor of attending the Mesa Fallen Officer Memorial, where we stood united in gratitude for the bravery and dedication of these heroes.
Public Safety: “They Served Well” Memorial Tribute Ceremony
I was privileged to attend the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office annual "They Served Well" ceremony to honor those who have selflessly given their lives in the line of duty. Maricopa County is fortunate to have a multitude of devoted law enforcement officers safeguarding our streets and detention officers overseeing our jails. This solemn event served to reinforce my resolve to continue to support Sheriff Skinner and County Attorney Mitchell by advocating for the budgetary resources they need to keep the community safe.
Luke Air Force Base Tour
Last month, I joined County Attorney Rachel Mitchell as Luke Air Force Base graciously opened its doors to offer us an exclusive tour. We had the unique opportunity to engage with the 56th Fighter Wing Judge Advocate Team (JAG) and tour an F-35 Fighter Squadron. We also had the privilege of attending a special leadership luncheon where we were introduced to the esteemed Commanders and leaders of Luke Air Force Base.

Carefree: Earth Day Celebration
My office is all over our vast District 2, happily engaging with constituents. Last month we were at the Carefree Earth Day Celebration. It was great to see many folks, including Carefree Mayor John Crane!

Welcome to our Community Spotlight, where we shine a light on the incredible individuals, businesses, organizations, and initiatives making a difference in our community.
This month, we're spotlighting two monumental 50th anniversaries in Fountain Hills! Firstly, we're honoring the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce for its significant contributions to the town's economic growth and vitality under the leadership of President and CEO Betsy LaVoie. They're celebrating with a special Gala Awards Program to honor the remarkable efforts of local business owners, educators, and community volunteers. Additionally, they’re commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Fountain Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts, the largest event of its kind in the Southwest. Drawing in over 150,000 visitors annually, it is the town’s largest tourism event boosting their local economy by $2 million per show! With nearly 500 global artists showcasing their work over three days, this festival has become a prestigious showcase for artists in our region. These milestones remind us of the power of community collaboration and the achievements we can reach together. Here's to 50 years of growth, prosperity, and partnership in Fountain Hills!
