FEATURE EVENTS

Bike To Work Day

On Wednesday, April 17th Maricopa County held their Annual Bike To Work Day. This event aims to bring awareness to air quality and gives a chance for County employees to enjoy the outdoors as they head into work. This event begins in Indian Steele Park then the 4-mile bike ride takes you straight into Downtown. In addition to helping keep our Phoenix air clean, this event also enables County employees across all departments to conduct team building exercises as well as relieve stress. County employees look forward to this event every year and we hope it continues to grow.

Tolleson Whoopee Daze March & Festival

On Saturday, April 20th Supervisor Gallardo and his team attended the Annual Whoopee Daze March & Festival. The city of Tolleson puts together this event every year as a way to bring the community together and have some fun. The festival began with a march in the heart of Downtown Tolleson where families watched many floats and performers. The march was great and people from all age groups participated. After the march families went to vendor booths hosted by many organizations. Supervisor Gallardo and his team had a booth with numerous County resources and information that bring hope to families in need. Having this presence in the community is essential to bring awareness and aid the public with the full power of the County at hand.

Arizona Supershow

On Saturday, April 20th, the office of District 5 held a booth at the Arizona Supershow. This annual event brings together everyone from the low rider community in one place. Even car clubs from different states come and participate in the festivities. This event is a great place for the whole family to come see the amazing craftmanship and art that gets put into these classic cars. At the District 5 booth many county services and other important information was given to the constituents in the event. Many people are unaware of the help that Maricopa County can provide which is why attending these huge events with massive turnouts are so important.

You can view anything from your registration status to your ballot status and this useful tool can help mitigate any missteps to ensure a smooth election process. Need to license your dog?

MCACC, Pets, animal care & control, animals, dogs

The Maricopa County Animal Care & Control department offers licensing services to all residents of the County. Licensing your dog is important because if they get lost it will be easier for officials to identify and locate them. Licenses must be renewed yearly and start at $19. Avondale Fiesta

The City of Avondale is hosting a free nighttime festival that celebrates the community's Mexican culture. There will be food, live music, and many fun activities for families to come out and enjoy. This event will take place on Saturday, May 4th, from 6 - 10pm in Old Town Avondale. To learn more please visit this link.

Memorial Day Ceremony

On Monday, May 27th, the City of Avondale is hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Civic Center Amphitheater. This event starts at 8:30am and includes a musical tribute and flag ceremony dedicated to veterans who served our nation.

Goodyear Night Market

Starting May 26th from 5 - 9pm the City of Goodyear is hosting the Goodyear Night Market. It will be a night of great fun and gives the community a chance to interact with numerous vendors in cooperation with E.L.L.A. and Mujeres Mercado. The event will take place at the Goodyear Civic Center. There will also be live music and food trucks! For more information, please visit this link.

The 31st Annual Cinco de Mayo Festival

This year's Phoenix Cinco de Mayo Festival will be held on May 5th, from 12 - 10pm. Considering this is one of the largest multicultural festivals in Arizona, it is almost guaranteed to have a big turnout. The festivities include music, games and giveaways.
