New County Sheriff, Russ Skinner
I was proud to make the motion for Russ Skinner to be the new Sheriff. Skinner has more than 30 years of experience at the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, and he knows all the important challenges that must be addressed this year. He has the respect of deputy sheriffs and detention officers. He treats all citizens with dignity and respect. Public safety is an important issue for me, and I want residents of Maricopa County to be assured that Sheriff Skinner will do everything he can to keep us safe and allow our community to thrive. Congratulations, Sheriff Skinner!
Mesa: Asian Festival
I had a wonderful time as a featured speaker and was honored to attend the Mesa Asian Festival at Mesa Community College. The vendor booths were amazing. Thank you to the community for their hospitality!

Breakfast for Israel
I felt honored and privileged to be invited by the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Phoenix, AZ to attend the JNF-USA “Breakfast for Israel” event with other elected officials. A large crowd of 1,000 people attended this moving and inspiring event.
Mesa: Lehi Days Rodeo
I had a great time at the annual Lehi Days Rodeo, hosted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints near the Mesa Historical Museum. It was great to see Mesa Councilman Mark Freeman. A highlight was handing out awards to the young competitors!

Mesa: Advocating for Local Business
I had a fantastic time speaking to several pro-business groups in the District. Attendees were pleased to hear about the successes the County had in 2023. I also spoke on issues related to fiscal strength and responsibility, housing, public safety, and animal care. Thank you Lions Club of Mesa for inviting me to speak about current issues at Maricopa County. You had great questions!
