This year has been nothing short of extraordinary for us at the Flood Control District. We've collectively achieved remarkable milestones, overcome challenges and demonstrated an unparalleled dedication to excellence and service to the residents of Maricopa County. This year’s announcement of the Employee Awards has a bit of a COVID times feel to it – construction, elevator revamp, limited parking and a retired Director all added up to a virtual announcement ceremony instead of an in-person All Hands. Well, of course we got super excited and got the cameras ready. Called craft services. Started printing up cue cards. Rehearsing lines. Practicing dance routines.
Scott and Gus walked into the excitement and told us we needed to focus on the winners and not turn this into a big production.
