|
Jobs can be harder to find in some of the smaller communities across America, and that's true here in Maricopa County, too. That's why we've teamed up with the Governor's Office on a program that brings accelerated career training opportunities to career seekers in the outskirts of the county. Approved by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors at its Nov. 1 meeting, the program, called Workforce 2 You, will be available to career seekers in Gila Bend, Queen Creek, and Wickenburg.
The training programs will be offered in a variety of high-demand industries, including:
- Construction
- Healthcare
- Information Technology
- Manufacturing
- Transportation
For more information on this program and other services offered by Maricopa County’s Human Services Department, visit Maricopa.gov/HSDConnect.

Happy Tails
"I went into the Mesa shelter in mid-August not really expecting to take a dog home that day. However, I came across the sweetest, most gentle pittie named Addison. I knew I had to take her home and that's exactly what I did, although I changed her name to Lottie! At her free vet appointment it was discovered that she would need to have an entropion procedure on at least one eye, if not both.
The quote was quite expensive for the operation but the vet was willing to work out a payment plan. Taking Lottie back to the shelter was never an option, but I did call Maricopa County Animal Care and control to see if they could possibly help me out with at least the down payment of the procedure. Thats when Nora Holguin came to rescue and was able to get Lottie's procedure completely taken care of! It sure saved Lottie and I a lot of stress and we could not be more grateful to Ms. Holguin and Maricopa County Animal Care and Control."
