Lunch with Bishop Dolan of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix
I was honored to meet with Bishop John Dolan of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix. We discussed many of the issues that plague our communities including homelessness and the scourge of drugs.
I am grateful to Bishop Dolan for discussing ways we can address these important issues together. I will continue to work with faith leaders and others who understand these challenging issues so we can find ways to alleviate the pain and suffering caused by these challenges in our community.

Heat Safety
Take extra precautions during the extreme heat we are experiencing in the Valley. Stay cool, hydrated, and informed to keep yourself and others safe through these hot weeks.
Although anyone can be at risk of heat-related illness, children, older adults, and those with chronic illnesses are at the greatest risk. Remember to "look before you lock" and never leave children or pets behind in the car.
Visit Maricopa.gov/Heat to find resources to help, including a map of emergency cooling & water stations, a guide to the warning signs of heat illness, and tips to stay healthy in the heat.

Happy Tails
“Angel, who went by Soldier Boy in the East kennel, has become our little baby and our fur girls’ best friend. We saw him all over Facebook and his time at the shelter was coming to an end. As fosters with MCACC, I felt a calling to go save him. At the time, East was not doing fostering and his only hope (with only a couple hours left) was to be adopted. So, I did. Our close friends lost their fur-baby last year and coincidentally, Angel looks identical to her. Our friends love coming over to see him and we love having him. Angel is safe and sound. He truly is an Angel.”
Angel’s Human, Isabel R.
