Maricopa County Takes Home Record Number of National Achievement Awards

Maricopa County is standing out in a big way, earning national awards for dozens of different innovative programs. The nation’s fastest-growing county received 58 National Achievement Awards this year from the National Association of Counties (NACo) for designing and implementing programs that have made a measurable, positive impact on the community. 16 county departments, elected offices, and courts were honored in service categories including public safety, health, and information technology, among others. Maricopa County’s Election Command Center won a coveted “Best in Category” award for Civic Education and Public Information. |

District 3 Supervisor Bill Gates Will Not Seek Re-election
District 3 Supervisor Bill Gates announced last Thursday that he will not seek re-election to the Board of Supervisors in 2024. He intends to pursue other interests and opportunities.
“For over thirteen years, it has been my honor to serve my home state of Arizona on the Phoenix City Council and the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. As this chater comes to an end, I rest well knowing that I led with integrity, compassion, and dignity. Regardless of personal partisan preferences or external pressure, I remained focused on making our region the best place to live, work and raise a family,” said District 3 Supervisor Bill Gates.

Growl Tests
The Palo Verde Generating Station is performing Growl Tests for the 70 Sirens around the Palo Verde Generating Station. A Growl Test is a short (approx 15 second) activation of a siren. Testing is expected to be completed by June 30th.

Job of the Week
 Our Public Fiduciary Department is looking for a Paralegal Supervisor.
The Paralegal Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision and training of paralegals and legal secretaries for the Public Fiduciary Department. This position is also responsible for preparing draft pleadings and court documents, ensuring timely compliance with court mandates while working cooperatively with fiduciaries, investigators, supervisors, and attorneys, both internal and external. The legal unit works in close cooperation with the investigation unit and the County Attorney's office.
