Thomas Galvin has been elected as Maricopa County Supervisor for District 2. Galvin, the son of an immigrant from Honduras, is the first Latino Republican to be elected to the Board.
In this position, Galvin represents nearly 900,000 Maricopa County residents, including people in parts of Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Mesa, Gilbert, Fountain Hills, Apache Junction, Cave Creek, and Carefree. District 2 also includes the Ft. McDowell Yavapai Nation and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
Galvin has served the area since his unanimous appointment to the Board of Supervisors in December 2021.
Galvin is a lifelong Republican whose priorities in office include fighting inflation, promoting public safety, and protecting the Maricopa County taxpayer. Along with his colleagues, Galvin approved the largest tax rate cut in county history in 2022.
A practicing lawyer with expertise in land use and water rights, Galvin also serves on the Maricopa Association of Government's Economic Development Committee.
Galvin graduated from the College of the Holy Cross (MA) and University of Notre Dame Law School. Galvin and his wife are raising their young son in Phoenix.
