 Domestic Violence Remains Prevalent in Maricopa County
No one should live in fear, especially in their own home. Unfortunately, domestic violence remains prevalent in communities across Maricopa County. While it tends to happen behind closed doors, the numbers speak volumes about those who fall victim to an aggressor.
If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, there is help. Resources are available 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

County Attorney Allister Adel Announces Settlement with Manufacturers and Distributors of Prescription Opioids

Maricopa County is the first county government in Arizona to reach an agreement to settle with manufacturers and distributors of opioids for their role in unlawfully marketing, promoting, and dispensing prescription opioids. The agreement is expected to bring approximately $580 million dollars to the state of Arizona and $80 million to the residents of Maricopa County. |

 October 23rd to 31st is Red Ribbon Week, a time designated to raise awareness of substance abuse. This year we are encouraging families to talk about the dangers of counterfeit pills and opioids.

MCAO employees never hesitate to get involved and help others in the community. This summer, our Juvenile Division employees worked with the Hopes Women's Center to mentor teenage girls and support their professional goals.

Updates to Street Racing Laws
Street racing and high speed driving continue to be a problem on our roads. Earlier this fall, changes in the street racing law included tougher penalties for drivers, spectators, and other individuals involved.
If you are on the road and see reckless drivers, don't hesitate to call 911.

Maricopa County Combined Charitable Campaign

Every year, Maricopa County employees come together to donate funds from their paychecks to county-wide non-profits that help those in need. This year the campaign surpassed its goal and raised $228,845 towards local charities with MCAO employees raising $20,577 in donations. |
