TODAY'S KEY MESSAGE
Don’t Wait. Get Tested.
|
|
Although demand for COVID-19 testing has increased during this recent surge in cases, testing is still available. How fast you get your results depends on where you’re tested, what type of test you receive, and demand at the time. Anyone with COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms should get a COVID-19 test, regardless of vaccination status.
Remember: do not go to Urgent Care or the emergency room for a COVID-19 test. Hospitals need to focus on caring for COVID-19 patients and others with urgent needs.
To find a testing site near you, visit Maricopa.gov/COVID19Testing.

Get Protection Against The Flu And COVID-19
It’s easy to forget in the middle of the pandemic that we also need to be vigilant about protection from other infectious diseases. Case in point: the flu. With flu season fast-approaching, Public Health encourages everyone to get a flu shot in addition to a COVID-19 vaccine for the best protection against respiratory illness that can lead to time away from work, family, and even hospitalization of death.
|
A couple of key points:
- You can get both the COVID-19 vaccine and flu vaccine safely on the very same day.
- Adults 65 years and older and the immunocompromised are at increased risk of being hospitalized for the flu. Young children are also at increased risk. These groups should prioritize getting a flu shot before flu begins spreading widely in Maricopa County.
- Children 6-months-old to 18-years-old can receive a free flu shot at these immunization clinics on weekdays.
