The Maricopa County Environmental Services Department has initiated the Enhanced Regulatory Outreach Process (EROP) to adopt the 2017 FDA Food Code by reference and has some proposed revisions to the Maricopa County Environmental Health Code (MCEHC). The new food code contains the latest in food safety practices and will bring the state and counties into alignment. This alignment levels the playing field for stakeholders who will have one set of rules to follow, which will create consistency for all parties across counties. A complete summary of the 2017 FDA Food Code changes can be found here.
