ADHS Manufactured Food Regulatory Program Rulemaking in Progress

How you can participate in rule making process.

Food Processing Plant

The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) has begun the rulemaking process to adopt manufactured food program rules. Once complete, the rules will be found in the Arizona Administrative Code Title 9 Chapter 8 Article 9 Manufactured Food Facilities. The Manufactured Food Regulatory Program is being established to create an integrated, risk-based, food safety system focused on protecting public health statewide. Commercial manufactured food operations that provide food for sale or distribution to other business entities, such as food establishments (restaurants) and retailers, are encouraged to participate in the rule making process, which is open to all.

Please email foodsafety@azdhs.gov if you would like to receive information and stakeholder meeting notices about the Manufactured Food Facility rule-making.

Visit the ADHS active rulemaking website for more information on the Manufactured Food Regulatory Program, including a copy of the current draft rules and a link to a survey that closes on April 17, 2021.
