Vaccine Appointment Update
|
|
We are making significant progress in getting people in Phases 1A & 1B vaccinated. Below, you can find updates on vaccination appointment options for people in these priority groups who still need their first or second dose. |
|
Adults 75 And Older
- There are 20 pharmacies in Maricopa County offering first and second dose vaccination appointments to adults 75 years and older. Search for appointments >
- Public Health’s first neighborhood pop-up event offering Moderna vaccine for adults 75+ runs through Friday in the northeast Valley. You can check for openings at http://covidsafeaz.com/register. More of these pop-up events will be announced soon. To be contacted about events for people age 75+ in your area, please fill out this brief survey.
- There are a select number of first-dose appointments for adults 75 and older at our Chandler, Goodyear, and Grand Canyon University PODs. The number of appointments and which location they are offered at will vary. You can check appointment availability at azdhs.gov.
|
Adults 65-74
- Currently, there are only two PODs (State Farm Stadium and Phoenix Municipal Stadium) vaccinating adults 65 to 74. Those POD sites are run by Arizona Department of Health Services. At the moment, all appointments at state-run sites for February are booked. Check azdhs.gov/COVID19 for updates including when additional appointments might be offered.

K-12 School And Childcare Staff
Maricopa County Public Health has partnered with school districts and pharmacies to set up special, private events for K-12 school and childcare workers. These events serve anyone who is an employee of a public, private, or charter school, or is a childcare worker within the host district’s boundaries.

Second Dose Appointments
- Email notifications for private second dose events have been sent to nearly 60,000 Maricopa County residents who received their first dose at the county’s Chandler, Goodyear or Grand Canyon University PODs prior to January 30th. Look for an email from podvaccine-noreply@azdhs.gov in your inbox or spam folders.
- If you were vaccinated at State Farm Stadium or Phoenix Municipal Stadium, ADHS will contact you about scheduling your second dose.

Vaccine Supply
By now you’ve heard that demand for COVID-19 vaccine exceeds supply. This is true for much of the country and our partners at the State are doing what they can to get Arizona more doses. In the meantime, Maricopa County Public Health and Arizona Department of Health Services are working closely to make sure vaccine is available at sites across Maricopa County. Maricopa County Public Health will continue to prioritize getting vaccine to people at the highest risk while ensuring no usable doses of vaccine are wasted.
|
When Will We Move To The Next Phase Of Vaccination?
As a greater percentage of individuals eligible in phases 1A and 1B Priority are vaccinated, and as our vaccine supply increases, we will be able to expand vaccination efforts to include those remaining in Phase 1B. That includes adults 65-74, adults in congregate settings, and essential workers.
