There is widespread COVID-19 in our community. At a press conference today, Maricopa County Public Health provided an update on rising case counts in the Valley.
Planning A Safe Weekend
The virus isn’t going away any time soon. So how do you responsibly plan your weekend? Here is the current guidance from Public Health:
Keep at least six feet of distance between yourself and others whenever possible
If you cannot maintain distance outside your home, wear a cloth face mask
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth
Use hand sanitizer or wash your hands after leaving public places
People who are at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19, like those age 65 and over and those with chronic medical conditions, should avoid being around others outside their household as much as possible.

While delivery or curbside pickup options are still the best way to limit potential exposure to the virus, more restaurants are resuming dine-in service. If dining out is a part of your weekend plans, take precautions to protect your health.
At today’s press conference, leaders from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and Maricopa County Correctional Health Services addressed a rise in cases within the jail system. The two organizations are taking a proactive approach to limit spread and keep staff and inmates healthy.
Maricopa County Parks and Recreation has expanded operating procedures at Lake Pleasant to accommodate anglers. These include earlier openings and boat-in camping opportunities.
