What You Can Do To Help Stop The Spread

The CDC continues to study the spread and effects of the novel coronavirus across the United States.  We now know from recent studies that a significant portion of individuals with coronavirus lack symptoms (“asymptomatic”) and that even those who eventually develop symptoms (“pre-symptomatic”) can transmit the virus to others before showing symptoms.  This means that the virus can spread between people interacting in close proximity—for example, speaking, coughing, or sneezing—even if those people are not exhibiting symptoms.   CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Staying home when you’re sick, staying six feet away from others in social settings, and practicing good hygiene are things everyone can do to slow the spread.

Other volunteer opportunities which are expanding during the response include a logistics team assisting with the pick-up of PPE, our COVID-19 call center team, and assisting a local fire department on low-acute calls to assist with the surge.
  • Arizona Together
There are other ways to serve with your time and talents during the COVID-19 outbreak, from providing virtual support to delivering food and medication, even helping with daily tasks for people who live alone.
  • Local Food Banks
In addition to cash and food donations, local food banks need volunteers. Locate the food bank nearest you and contact them directly to find out what opportunities are available.

Financial Assistance

  • Arizona@Work
Search current job openings and find resources to help land your next job. Employers can get assistance to recruit, develop and retain the right employees for the job.

Survivable Space To Protect From Wildfire

survivable

With the recent wildfires, your house is more likely to withstand a wildfire if you create a survivable space around it using zones. It’s simple and it can save your home when a wildfire strikes. Define the survivable space around your house. Include detached garages, storage buildings, barns and other structures. Involve your neighbors in your plan, making the most of a community effort. You are the first and best line of defense for your home!  For more information read here >
