Clerk’s
office grabs top spot in getting money where it needs to go
For the second year in a row, the Clerk’s office took first place in the
state’s tax intercept program in 2017. Intercepted funds are posted to child
support, court-ordered fees, and uncollected filing fees. At more than two
million dollars, Maricopa County’s collections were nearly twice that of the
next closest agency and were approximately $10,000 short of exceeding the Clerk’s
all-time high collection amount from 2012.
Saturday hours return for
marriage licenses and passports
The Clerk’s office will be open on Saturdays at three locations in March
and April to issue marriage licenses and process passport
applications. Hours for all locations will be 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Dates
and locations are:

The Clerk’s Office is an acceptance agency for processing passport
applications for passport books and cards for children and adults. The U.S.
Department of State and Clerk of Court fees are paid separately. The Clerk’s
$25 fee applies to each application and is payable by cash, debit card, money
order, Visa, MasterCard or American Express only. NOTE that the federal Office of Management and Budget increased the
Clerk’s execution fee from $25 to $35 EFFECTIVE APRIL 2, 2018. The State
Department’s fees vary depending on the type of application and the State
Department accepts checks and money orders only. Applicants can start their
paperwork online, print and bring their forms to the Clerk’s office to save

AzBarMail email addresses
being phased out
The State Bar of Arizona’s email
address for attorneys (AzBarMail) is ending on April 1, 2018. The State Bar
states the email platform and associated email addresses (those that end in
“@azbar.org”) will be deactivated and will no longer function. Attorneys
who still have an AzBarMail email address on file with the Clerk’s office will
need to update their email address with the Clerk’s office before the April 1
deadline. To submit an email address change, enter the changes on the Clerk’s
Attorney Address Change Form online at http://www.clerkofcourt.maricopa.gov/address_change_form.asp.
Attorneys who do not provide an updated email address will no longer receive
emailed minute entries from the Clerk’s office until a valid address is
