School supply drive will provide donors with entrance to Maricopa County Home Show
(Phoenix, AZ) - One in five children in Maricopa County lives in poverty. An opportunity in July will allow people to help students in need and earn free entrance to the Maricopa County Home & Landscape Show.
Maricopa County School Superintendent Steve Watson will be collecting donations of new backpacks and school supplies outside Gate 2 at the Maricopa County Home & Landscape Show at the University of Phoenix Stadium on July 14, 15, and 16. Donated backpacks and school supplies will go to students in some of the highest-need schools in Maricopa County.
Those who donate a backpack will receive two free tickets to the home show, while donating three of any of the following items earns one ticket:
- 4-pack of glue sticks
- Pack of ballpoint pens (12/pack)
- Box of No. 2 pencils (12/box)
- Box of colored pencils (12/box)
- Box of water-based markers (8/box)
- Box of crayons (16/box)
- 4-pack of dry erase markers
- Single subject spiral-bound notebook
- Package of loose-leaf notebook paper
- Pocket folders
- Scotch tape
The Maricopa County Home & Landscape Show is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, July 14, and Saturday, July 15, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, July 16. Learn more about the show at http://maricopacountyhomeshows.com.
