The Cutting Edge program keeps growing: in number of participants and in terms of recognition! This is reason to celebrate and it’s a good piece of news!
Starting today, be on the lookout for Cutting Edge Program advertisements on AZFAMILY.com, the Web home of 3 TV and CBS 5.
The Cutting Edge logo, Web
site, and Public Service announcements (30 and 60 second ads) are being
featured on the popular Web site, to recognize those establishments that
implement principles and practices of Active Managerial Control.
As A+ Food Safety
Establishments, this is a good time for Cutting Edge participants to proudly
display-in a conspicuous manner throughout their establishment- Cutting Edge
logos, posters, and certificates.

This week (May 22–28, 2017), right before Memorial Day weekend,
marks the thirteenth annual Healthy
and Safe Swimming Week (HSSW).
Swimming is a fun, active and healthy activity. However, in
the past two decades there has been an increase in the number of Recreational
Water Illness (RWI) outbreaks associated with swimming pools, water parks, and
spas.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC)
Healthy Swimming program offers information and resources to raise awareness
about RWIs and how to prevent them by practicing "Healthy Swimming"
behaviors.
The theme of this year’s HSSW is “Diarrhea and Swimming Don’t
Mix.” Diarrheal incidents (e.g., Cryptosporidium-related contamination events)
in recreational water can lead to outbreaks.
Keep your friends and family healthy by staying out of
recreational water if you are experiencing, or have recently experienced,
diarrhea.
