By Andy Linton, Environmental Health Division Manager
In 2014, the Board of Supervisor approved a stakeholder taskforce recommendation to establish a single point of contact for each of the four (4) food industry categories:
· Full Service
· Quick Service
· Retail (Grocery, Markets, Convenience)
· Specialty (Special Events, Mobile Food)
The goal of having these industry contacts is to make it as easy and convenient as possible for you to communicate with the Environmental Services Department. Each industry point of contact is a subject matter expert and is able to field questions, concerns, coordinate information across regional offices, and liaise with inspectors.
Update: New Contact Person!
Tesann Achilles was recently promoted to be the Managing Supervisor for Maricopa County Environmental Service Department’s (ESD’s) Western Regional Office.
In her new position, she acts as the single point of contact for grocery and convenient stores across Maricopa County. Tesann (or “Tess” for short) has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She brings 18 years of experience to her new role— as a field environmental health specialist (EHS), an EHS in the Environmental-Related Illness Program, and has spent the past 7 years as a supervisor at the Northern Regional Office. Not only has Tesann been working with industry and the public throughout her career at ESD, she is an active member/board member of the Arizona Environmental Health Association (AZEHA).
All this experience has made her a fantastic communicator and an expert at finding effective solutions to difficult challenges.
