Freeway improvements continue in the Northwest Valley
The Arizona Department of Transportation is continuing improvements to Loop 303. Several projects, stretching from Happy Valley Parkway to US 60 (Grand Avenue) will help improve traffic conditions. Delays are expected on Loop 303 and US 60 (Grand Avenue) in the Northwest Valley until construction ends in summer 2016. Please plan extra travel time or use an alternate route.
Drivers are reminded to slowdown and be alert when traveling in the work zones. Flaggers are guiding traffic through the work zone for the next several months:
-
Loop 303 in both directions, between Happy Valley and US 60 (Grand Avenue), may be narrowed to one lane and multiple flaggers may be present to direct traffic through summer 2015.
-
US 60 (Grand Avenue) near Loop 303 may be narrowed to one lane in both directions and multiple flaggers may be present to direct traffic through summer 2015.
Significant progress has been made to Loop 303 in the Northwest Valley to transform the two-lane road into an urbanized freeway. This summer will mark several project milestones including the completion of widening and paving Loop 303 from Happy Valley Parkway to US 60 (Grand Avenue), sound wall completion near the residences along Loop 303 from Happy Valley to Mountain View Blvd., and switching traffic from the " Loop 303/ US 60 (Grand Avenue) connector road" onto the nearly-complete ramp on the southwest corner of Loop 303/ US 60 (Grand Avenue) that will better connect the roadways.
