Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) Update

Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) HOV Lane Improvement Project Requires Closures and Restrictions This Weekend (July 29-31)
Drivers asked to plan ahead when traveling on the Loop 101 in the West Valley

As work continues on the HOV lanes on the Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway), drivers should be aware of a number of upcoming restrictions and closures, which include:

• Loop 101 eastbound closed between 51st and 27th avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 p.m. Saturday (July 30) for HOV lane construction. Please consider alternate routes. Traffic will detour along frontage road (Beardsley Road).

• Loop 101 westbound closed between 27th and 51st avenues from 8 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 1) for HOV lane construction. In addition, both I-17 ramps to Loop 101 westbound will be closed. Traffic will detour along frontage road (Beardsley Road). I-17 traffic use Union Hills Drive to 35th Avenue, north to frontage road.

• Loop 101 westbound narrowed to two lanes between State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) and 19th Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 1) for rubberized asphalt paving along future HOV lane.

• Loop 101 eastbound narrowed to two lanes between 7th Ave. and Cave Creek Road from 2 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 1) for rubberized asphalt paving. Please use caution in work zone.

• I-10 eastbound ramp to northbound Loop 101 closed from 8 p.m. Saturday to 8 a.m. Sunday (July 31) for safety barrier work. Consider using northbound 99th or 91st avenues to McDowell Road to access Loop 101.
