As part of a 12-mile reconstruction project on US 60 from Siphon Draw to State Route 79 near Gold Canyon, the Arizona Department of Transportation will close the eastbound lane on US 60 for bridge work from 2 a.m. Wednesday (July 6) to 3:30 p.m. Monday (July 18).
What to expect during the closure:
- Traffic on eastbound US 60 will be reduced to one lane between mileposts 205 and 207 until Monday, July 18.
- Westbound lanes on US 60 will not be restricted.
- Crews will work from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
- The lane closure will remain in place after work hours and during weekends.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph through the eastbound US 60 construction zone.
- Access to the Gold Canyon community, particularly at Kings Ranch Road, Mountainbrook Drive and Superstition Mountain Drive, will not be restricted.
- Drivers should proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.
The construction project schedule is subject to change due to a variety of reasons, including weather, material availability and mechanical difficulties.
