Restrictions are necessary as ADOT prepares to open new Prince Road interchange
Lane restrictions and ramp closures on eastbound Interstate 10 between Orange Grove Road and Miracle Mile will be necessary beginning Wednesday, Feb. 26 through Sunday, March 2 to allow crews to remove temporary barriers and shift traffic onto the inside lanes of the freeway.
The work is part of the $76.4 million I-10 widening project between Ruthrauff and Prince roads in preparation for the opening of the reconstructed Prince Road traffic interchange next month.
The work to remove the temporary barrier will occur nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. as follows:
- The left lane on eastbound I-10 between Ruthrauff and Prince roads will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 26.
- The left lane on eastbound I-10 between Prince Road and Miracle Mile will be closed Thursday Friday, Feb. 27.
- The left lane on westbound I-10 between Prince and Ruthrauff roads will be closed Thursday, Feb. 27 and Friday, Feb. 28.
On Saturday March 1, the work to shift traffic on I-10 will occur overnight as follows:

Eastbound I-10 will be reduced to one lane between Orange Grove Road and Miracle Mile from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- The eastbound I-10 entrance ramp at Sunset Road will be closed.
- The eastbound I-10 entrance and exit ramps at Ruthrauff Road will be closed.
- Traffic will be detoured to the eastbound I-10 entrance/exit ramps at Miracle Mile.

The eastbound I-10 exit ramp at Prince Road will be closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Traffic will be detoured to the Miracle Mile exit ramp.
On Sunday, March 2, at 6 a.m., traffic will be traveling on the three inside lanes of eastbound I-10.
Drivers should be prepared to slow down and merge safely in the work zone. The posted speed limit will be 45 mph through the project.
