SR 89A in Oak Creek Canyon closed to all through traffic until further notice

Canyon residents may travel into and out of Sedona for goods and services

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers that State Route 89A in Oak Creek Canyon is closed to all through traffic between Owenby Way roundabout in Sedona and Flagstaff. Only local canyon residents who provide proof of residency may use SR 89A to access Sedona for goods and services (travel to Flagstaff is prohibited). 

For all drivers, travel between Sedona and Flagstaff will be restricted to State Route 179 and Interstate 17.

ADOT advises drivers to use caution and travel only when needed as crews continue to address canyon infrastructure damage. Please obey signage, slow down in work zones, be aware of narrow road sections and continuing potential for rockfalls.
