The Arizona Department of Transportation advises area drivers to prepare for overnight weekend construction Oct. 16-18 as work continues on the State Route 64: I-40 to Pipeline Road Pavement Preservation project north of Williams.
Drivers should expect delays while the following restrictions are in place between 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., Friday evening Oct. 16 through Sunday morning, Oct. 18:
- SR 64 will be intermittently narrowed to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel roughly between Pronghorn Ranch Road and Buck Mountain Road (milepost 189-195).
- Flaggers and a pilot car will be on-site to direct traffic.
- Drivers should be prepared for delays as crews conduct paving operations.
- Restrictions will be lifted during daytime hours.
- The speed limit will be reduced to 25 mph with a vehicle width restriction of 11 feet.
After the weekend work is complete, the standard schedule of overnight work from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday evenings through Friday mornings will resume.
The $19.4 million project is scheduled for completion by fall 2027.
