Plan for daytime restrictions on SR 264 in Northeastern Arizona for road maintenance Oct. 7 and 8

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for daytime lane restrictions on State Route 264 between the communities of Steamboat and Burnside Wednesday, Oct. 7, and Thursday, Oct. 8, for road maintenance.

Drivers should expect the following restrictions from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. MST:

• SR 264 will be reduced to one lane only in 3-mile segments with alternating east- and westbound travel from milepost 426 to US 191 (milepost 441).
• Onsite flaggers and a pilot car will move drivers through the work zone.
• Drivers should be prepared to make frequent stops and expect delays when approaching and moving through the work zone.
• Restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours.

The restrictions are needed to do a fog seal treatment on the roadway to help extend the life of the pavement.
