The Arizona Department of Transportation completed the I-10, Cross Street Pavement Improvements Project this week. The project was designed to improve pavement conditions and implement pedestrian improvements at Seventh Street and Interstate 10, with improvements taking place both north and south of the interchange, and Elliot, Warner, and Ray roads and Chandler Boulevard, with all improvements taking place west of I-10.
Project improvements included roadway pavement work and striping, curb and driveway work to be compliant with Americans with Disability Act (ADA) guidelines, replacing curb, gutter and sidewalk where needed, and new street lighting in some areas.
Construction on the project started in January and was completed ahead of schedule.
Following final acceptance of improvements by the City of Phoenix, the current ADOT right-of-way included on the project will be transferred to the City for future management and maintenance.
