The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for ramp closures along Interstates 10 and 19 and a full closure of eastbound State Route 210 in Tucson on Saturday, Nov. 22, for El Tour de Tucson bicycling event. Message boards will alert drivers to the closures.
Drivers should plan for the following closures:
- Eastbound SR 210 (Aviation Highway) will be closed from 6:30 a.m. to noon
- Westbound I-10 on-ramp and the eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Houghton Road will be closed from 8 a.m. to noon:
DETOUR: Northbound Houghton Road traffic will be detoured on I-10 from the eastbound I-10 on-ramp to Colossal Cave/Wentworth Road and back to the westbound I-10 off-ramp onto Houghton Road. The Westbound off-ramp will be open, but traffic turning southbound onto Houghton Road will be directed by flaggers.
- Eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Valencia Road will be closed from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- The westbound I-10 on- and off-ramps will be open with flaggers directing traffic.
- Eastbound I-10 off-ramp at 6th Avenue will be closed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- The eastbound I-10 on-ramp and westbound I-10 off-ramp will be open with flaggers. The westbound I-10 on-ramp will be open.
- North- and southbound I-19 off-ramps at Continental Road will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Northbound I-19 on-ramp will be open with flaggers. The southbound on-ramp will be open.
- The east - and westbound I-19 frontage roads will be open with flaggers. Note: Left turns from the westbound frontage road onto Continental Road will be restricted.
- The northbound I-19 off-ramp and southbound I-10 on-ramp at Sahuarita Road will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- The northbound I-19 on-ramp and southbound I-19 off-ramp will be open.
Please use caution and yield for cyclists.
