I-17 lane restrictions, ramp closures at Anthem Way and Pioneer Road scheduled Oct. 5-10

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following overnight closures and restrictions in north Phoenix as part of the Interstate 17 pavement project between State Route 74 and Anthem Way:

INTERSTATE 17

• Northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one or two lanes in areas between SR 74/Carefree Highway and Anthem Way nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, Oct. 5, and ending Friday morning, Oct. 10.
• NOTE: Work will start at 9 p.m. on nights when northbound I-17 is narrowed to one lane.

• Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Anthem Way and SR 74/Carefree Highway nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, Oct. 5, and ending Friday morning, Oct. 10.

ANTHEM WAY

• The northbound I-17 off-ramp at Anthem Way will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, Oct. 5, and ending Tuesday morning, Oct. 7.
• Detour: Drivers may use eastbound Daisy Mountain Drive to northbound Gavilan Peak Parkway to access Anthem Way.

PIONEER ROAD

• The southbound I-17 on- and off-ramps at Pioneer Road will be closed nightly from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, Oct. 5, and ending Wednesday morning, Oct. 8.
• Off-ramp detour: Drivers may consider using eastbound Daisy Mountain Drive to southbound Gavilan Peak Parkway/North Valley Parkway to access Pioneer Road.
• On-ramp detour: Drivers may consider using eastbound Pioneer Road to southbound North Valley Parkway/Gavilan Peak Parkway to westbound SR 74/Carefree Highway to access I-17.
• Pioneer Road at I-17 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, Oct. 5, and ending Friday morning, Oct. 10.
• NOTE: Flaggers will assist drivers through the work zone.
• The northbound I-17 on- and off-ramps at Pioneer Road will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday, Oct. 6, and ending Friday morning, Oct. 10.
• On-ramp Detour: Drivers may consider using eastbound Pioneer Road to northbound North Valley Parkway/Gavilan Peak Parkway to westbound Daisy Mountain Drive to access I-17.
• Off-ramp Detour: Drivers may consider using eastbound SR 74/Carefree Highway to northbound North Valley Parkway/Gavilan Peak Parkway to access Pioneer Road.
• The northbound I-17 on- and off-ramps at Pioneer Road will have lane restrictions at the intersection.

NOTE: Consecutive I-17 on- and off-ramps will not be closed simultaneously. These restrictions will not occur all at the same time. Crews will be moving around the area each night based on progress.
