Long-term closure of eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) on-ramp at Alma School Road begins Sept. 22

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers of the following long-term ramp closure for reconstruction on the Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) widening project:

  • The eastbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Alma School Road will be closed for approximately 60 days beginning 11:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 22.
    • Detour: Drivers may consider using the eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps at Dobson Road or Arizona Avenue.

Ongoing long-term ramp closures

  • Westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Alma School Road — anticipated to open early November
  • Westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Arizona Avenue — anticipated to open mid-October
  • Westbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Price Road — anticipated to open late September

The Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) widening project between Loop 101 and Val Vista Drive will require additional closures and restrictions.

Please help us promote highway safety. Speed limits on Loop 202 are reduced to 55 miles per hour in work zones for the safety of you and workers. Slow down, stay alert and be prepared to merge with caution when approaching and traveling through all work zones. Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.
