Northbound Loop 101 closed between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road Sept. 12-15

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following closure as part of the Loop 101 widening project in north Scottsdale:

• Northbound Loop 101 between Shea Boulevard and Princess Drive/Pima Road will be closed beginning 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, and ending 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 15. The northbound Loop 101 on-ramps at 90th Street and Via De Ventura also will be closed.

Detour: Drivers may consider using westbound Shea Boulevard to northbound Scottsdale Road to access Loop 101 beyond the closure.

Arizona Cardinals fans in the East Valley who normally would use this stretch of northbound Loop 101 to travel toward Glendale for Sunday’s game can consider using alternate freeway routes including westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to northbound State Route 51 to reach Loop 101 beyond the closure. 

Please help us promote highway safety. Speed limits are reduced to 55 mph within the project area on Loop 101 for the safety of drivers and workers. Slow down, stay alert and be prepared to merge with caution when approaching and traveling through all work zones.

The Loop 101 Improvement Project between Princess Drive/Pima Road and Shea Boulevard is adding one general-use lane in each direction and providing other improvements along Loop 101 and at interchanges within the project’s boundaries.
