The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for daytime lane restrictions on State Route 264 between Ganado and St. Michaels when a pavement rehabilitation project begins on Thursday, June 5.
Drivers should expect delays and the following restrictions to be in place Mondays through Thursdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Fridays from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.:
- SR 264 will be reduced to one lane only in 3-mile segments with alternating east- and westbound travel between mileposts 459-465.
- Vehicles will be directed through the work zone by flaggers and a pilot car.
- Drivers should plan for extra travel time and watch for construction workers and equipment while traveling through the area.
- Restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours. No work is anticipated on weekends or holidays.
The work will include a chip seal and microsurface treatment of the road surface along with spot pavement repairs.
The project is scheduled to be completed by late summer.
