SR 89 left-turn lane project in Paulden scheduled to begin construction on May 30

SR 89 Paulden

The Arizona Department of Transportation is scheduled to start construction on a new westbound left-turn lane at the intersection of State Route 89 and Little Ranch Road in Paulden (mileposts 335-336).

Daytime restrictions are scheduled to be in place beginning Friday, May 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. There will also be some overnight work from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday nights through Thursday nights.

The restrictions include:

  • SR 89 will be narrowed to one lane only with alternating north- and southbound travel.
  • On-site flaggers and a pilot car will move drivers through the work zone.
  • Reduced speed limit to 35 mph through the work zone.
  • A vehicle width limit of 12 feet will be in place.
  • The restrictions will be lifted each day after work hours.

The construction project is anticipated to be completed in fall 2025. Schedules are subject to change based on weather and other unforeseen factors.

Drivers should be prepared to slow down and make frequent stops when approaching and passing through the work zone and use caution around construction personnel and equipment while the restrictions are in place.
