Northbound I-17 is open from Black Canyon City to Sunset Point; traffic will detour through the new flex lanes
The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists to plan for overnight lane restrictions and ramp closures throughout the I-17 Improvement Project corridor during the upcoming week. The restrictions will begin the evening of Monday, May 19, and end the morning of Friday, May 23, as work continues between Anthem Way and Sunset Point.
No planned closures or restrictions will occur between 5 a.m. Friday, May 23 and 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day weekend.
Northbound traffic on I-17 has been shifted into the two newly constructed flex lanes that run adjacent to the two existing southbound lanes of I-17. Some navigation apps, such as Google Maps, may not reflect this traffic shift and may be showing I-17 northbound as closed north of Black Canyon City.
